These playground merry-go-rounds and spinners cover five forms: classic merry-go-rounds with a grab-rail ring and seats, ground-level and ramped inclusive spinners a wheelchair rolls onto, single-user spin seats, spin cups and standing spin poles, and multi-user standing spinners.
Each one turns on a sealed bearing cartridge in a bolted housing, carries its own M part number, and is spin-checked in our pre-assembly yard before it is packed. Every spinner is part of our commercial playground equipment line.

Spinner Selection by Age Zone and SiteDeck Type, Group Size and Ground Conditions
Three things decide which spinner goes on your site: who rides it, how many ride at once, and whether the ground can be dug.

Age zone
Spinners are drawn into the 2–5 or 5–12 zone they serve, to ASTM F1487 and the CPSC handbook, or to EN 1176 where your project names it. Compact decks and single-user spin seats and cups suit the 2–5 zone.
Large classic decks, standing spin poles and multi-user standing spinners go in the 5–12 zone. Every spinner carries an age-range label.

Group size
A classic merry-go-round or a multi-user standing spinner lets a group play together on one deck.
Single-user spin seats, cups and poles give one child each, and several of them can stand in a row along a path or at the edge of a zone, each on its own footing.

Ground conditions
Where the site has an accessible route, a ground-level or ramped inclusive spinner goes on it, so a child in a wheelchair rides the same deck as the children around them.
A site that can be excavated takes a ground-level spinner in a shallow pit. A site with existing hard paving, services below the surface or a rooftop takes a ramped spinner, or a spinner on an anchor-bolt base plate confirmed by your structural engineer.
What you get. Each spinner appears on your layout with its form, deck size and an M structure number, such as M1, plus a single-item plan and elevation.
Center Bearing AssemblySealed Cartridge, Bolted Housing and Replacement With the Footing in Place
The center assembly carries the whole deck and every rider, and the bearing is the part of a spinner that turns every time it is used. It is built as a unit you can open, so the bearing is a part you replace, and the post and footing stay in the ground.
01Center post
The spinner stands on a center post set in concrete per the footing detail drawing, or fixed on an anchor-bolt base plate where you choose that option.
The post is made in our steel fabrication workshop, hot-dip galvanized and powder coated like every steel part in our outdoor line. Cutting, welding and coating are on playground equipment manufacturing.
02Bolted housing
A housing bolted to the top of the post holds the bearing. It is fixed with 304 stainless steel tamper-resistant fasteners, capped.
03Sealed bearing cartridge
The bearing is a seated in the housing. It carries its own part number, such as

The sits on the cartridge and the deck, rails and seats bolt to the hub. A center cap closes the top.

Replacing the cartridge
Your maintenance crew removes the center cap, releases the hub and lifts out the cartridge. The new cartridge goes into the same housing, the hub goes back on and the cap closes.
The post, the footing and the surfacing around it are never disturbed, so nothing is dug up. Security bits for the tamper-resistant heads ship in the spare hardware kit with your order.

Warranty
The bearing is a moving part, with a 2-year warranty. The steel post and deck frame carry a 10-year warranty, and rotomolded seats and cups 5 years.
Every spinner turns on a sealed bearing cartridge with its own part number, replaced without touching the footing.

Inclusive SpinnersGround-Level and Ramped Decks a Wheelchair Rolls Onto
An inclusive spinner lets a child in a wheelchair ride the deck with the children around them. It is made in two forms, and the choice between them is made on your layout, from your ground conditions.

Ground-level spinner
The deck sits in a shallow pit, level with the surfacing around it. A wheelchair rolls straight on from the accessible route, with no step and no ramp. The deck edge meets the surfacing at a gap drawn to the CPSC handbook values.
Ramped spinner
The same deck stands on the ground with a ramp up to it. It needs no pit, so it suits sites that cannot be excavated: existing hard paving, services below the surface, or a tight retrofit into a finished playground.

The deck
Both forms use a solid anti-slip deck, unperforated, so wheelchair wheels roll across it without catching. Classic merry-go-rounds keep the punched, plastisol-coated steel deck.
On the deck
A wheelchair space is marked out on the deck, with rails around it for the rider to hold. Seats beside it let a companion or carer ride along. Rails are in the same galvanized, powder-coated steel system as our Ø114 mm posts.
The route to the deck
The layout connects the spinner to the , planned around ADA accessible-route principles, with accessible surfacing to ASTM F1951 from the path to the deck edge or ramp foot. That route appears on the surfacing thickness zone plan, so your surfacing crew lays it to the drawing.
Speed
Large inclusive spinners carry the same factory-set speed governor as our large classic decks, so the deck turns under the same resistance with a wheelchair on it.
What you get. The spinner on your layout with its wheelchair space, companion seats, accessible route and use zone; a single-item plan and elevation; and a design compliance statement to the named standard.

The pit edge and the accessible route both appear on the surfacing thickness zone plan and area table, so the surfacing is laid up to the deck edge at the level the drawing shows. Surfacing materials are on playground surfacing.
The installation video for your spinner is cut from its own pre-assembly and disassembly, filmed in installation order with part numbers in frame.
An optional on-site supervisor from our pre-assembly yard team can check the pit and footing positions before your crew sets the spinner. More on playground equipment installation.
Speed-Limiting Design on Large SpinnersSpeed Governor in the Center Assembly and Factory Spin Check
A large deck pushed by a group of children can build up speed. On our large multi-user spinners, the center assembly limits it.
Where it sits
A , a friction brake inside the center assembly, works between the hub and the housing. It is built into the assembly, so there is nothing on the deck for a child to reach or remove.
How it works
The governor's resistance rises as the deck turns faster. As a group pushes harder, the resistance builds, so the deck settles at the speed the governor allows however many children push it.
Set at the factory
The governor is set in our workshop and is not adjustable on site. Every large spinner of the same model leaves the factory with the same setting, and nobody on site can loosen it.
Which spinners carry it
Large classic merry-go-rounds, large multi-user standing spinners and large inclusive spinners. Single-user spin seats, cups and poles are limited by their size and by the push force of the one child riding them.

Spinners are pre-assembled with your outdoor order. The yard team sets each spinner on its post and carries out a spin check. The check is recorded in the pre-assembly video of your own spinner, together with close views of the housing bolts, hub and part numbers.
A failed check puts the part on QC hold; it is corrected and re-checked, and QC signs off before the spinner comes apart. You get the pre-assembly video with its spin check, and the governor listed on the part list. The pre-assembly process is on how we build playgrounds.

Standing spinners and single-user pieces fill the gaps between structures and along paths, each on its own footing.
Multi-user standing spinner
A center post carries a standing ring deck with rails. Children stand on the ring, hold the rails and ride together.
It turns on the same sealed bearing cartridge and bolted housing as our merry-go-rounds, and large models carry the speed governor.

Rows and groups. Several single-user pieces can stand in a row or a cluster, each with its own use zone and footing on the drawing, and each with its own M number.

A ring around the deck
A spinner needs clear ground all around its turning deck. The is drawn as a ring around the deck, to the CPSC handbook values for that spinner, or to EN 1176 where your project names it.
Checked against every neighbor
The design office places spinners at zone edges and checks each spinner zone against play structures, slide exits, spring riders, paths and benches.
Swing zones and entry direction
Swing zones get particular attention: the spinner is set so its use zone stays clear of the swing zone and of the swing entry direction marked on the layout. Swing zones are on commercial swing sets.
On the surfacing plan
The spinner use zone goes into the surfacing thickness zone plan and area table. How every item is placed on the site is on playground layout design, and how the standards are applied is on playground safety standards.

Center post in concrete by default. Classic merry-go-rounds, standing spinners and single-user pieces are set in concrete per the footing detail drawing, which shows the footing size for each.
Anchor-bolt base plate as an option. Where the site calls for it, a spinner can be ordered on an anchor-bolt base plate, fixed per the same drawing. Slabs and rooftops are confirmed by your structural engineer.
Pit for ground-level spinners. Ground-level inclusive spinners follow the pit and footing detail drawing described above.
